The 'Slow Tourism in Småland' project promotes a more mindful and sustainable way of travelling, encouraging visitors to take their time and truly connect with the destinations they visit. Unlike traditional tourism which often prioritises sightseeing over experience, slow tourism focuses on travelling at a relaxed pace, allowing for deeper connections with both the environment and local communities.
This projects includes a website, leaflets and business cards to introduce travellers to the concept of slow tourism and inspire them to engage with it. The website acts as a central hub for exploring the region of Swedish Småland.
Connecting with Småland
The leaflets and business cards provide a tangible way to share the message, further promoting Friederike Breum’s guesthouse as the perfect destination for this mindful form of travel. By encouraging a more relaxed, thoughtful pace, these materials help to raise awareness about the benefits of slow tourism, fostering a deeper connection with the region while also supporting local well-being and sustainability.
Crafting a Font from Nature
This self-made font emphasises the essence of slow travel and connecting with a place. Crafted by using reeds from the beaches, each letter is a result of time spent at the shore creating a connection with the location. The process itself is an intentional act of slowing down as each letter was formed during moments spent at this place. Each piece of reed looks different in shape, colour and texture what makes the font unique and gives an individuality. This makes it not only visually compelling but also aligns with the whole concept of connecting with nature.
